Vista x86 Simcity 4 + UT2004 problems

anyone tried and managed to get simcity 4 working under 32bit vista? if i run it in hardware rendering i get major graphical corruption (simcity 4 rush hour + patch) im using the 88.61 vista nvidia graphics drivers. software rendering works but slower.
also UT2004... game runs fine, but the mouse, it will occasionally randomly start moving by itself in odd directions, or point directly up/down and spin. im using microsoft intelli 1.1a 5 button. it also acts as though there is some form of acceleration on the mouse, but it is disabled in both windows and the game settings (im actually using the exact same configuration file for ut2004 in vista as i am in windows XP and this problem isnt in XP.
anyone else had any of these issues or know work arounds or solutions... id guess the simcity one is a graphics driver problem, although not sure with the UT2004 one.

After 10 minutes of struggling I've got Sim City 4 working ok...
Trying
to run it in fullscreen, at least initially threw up a can't find 3D hardware error and would only start in software and show me the top-left corner of the program - so I can't find the options <g> used the -window command to run it in a window and it seems to be working great.
This is with a Radeon 850XT PE and the ATI Beta 2 drivers.

I've noticed this in Quake 3 Arena too.
